Adoption Announcement - 3/11/2017

Hi there! My name is Pip and I have found my new furrever home! I came to Safe Place a month ago with my sister Manxie (who is still waiting for her own furrever home!) a month ago when our Mom had to move to Oklahoma to take care of her own mom, who is very sick. She couldn’t take us with her, but knew that Safe Place would find us both wonderful new homes. And now I have one! My new Dad, Mike, lives alone in a nice big house with a big back yard, and was lonely. But now he has me, so the two of us are living the swinging bachelor life and keeping each other company. Mike likes to watch TV, so I sit next to him on the couch and watch it with him. Or I curl up in the warm snuggly from Safe Place that we put in the chair facing the couch and either catnap or just watch Mike. Sometimes Mike and I will take a walk in the back yard and that is really fun, but I can only go outside if he is with me. There are scary animals around here that might get me! One of my absolute favorite things to do is chase all my wonderful catnip mice. I have a ginormous basket of them that my old mom sent with me, and I love to get them out at night and bat them around and throw them up in the air. When I get tired of the one I’m playing with, I just go to the basket and find another one. It’s great fun. I’m really happy with my new home and Dad and am really grateful to Safe Place for Pets for bringing us both together!

Many thanks to Pip’s surrenderer for trusting Safe Place with her beloved babies, and to his new dad for his generous donation. And many thanks to Cook Veterinary Hospital (a Safe Place for Pets veterinary partner) for ensuring Pip’s good health and readiness for his new forever home! Thank you, too, to the Safe Place volunteers for making the snuggly for Pip to cozy up in so he can watch his new dad.

Adoption Bio - 2/10/2017

Hi! My name is Pip and I am a 10-year old, 10.9-pound male neutered Russian Blue with claws. I am a handsome fellow with my dark gray coat and nicely muscled body. But what you will notice first when you come meet me (Please!!) is that I am a real charmer. I love to be petted and scratched, around my chin and ears of course, but also on my chest. That feels so good.

I am also a lap cat, although my sister Manxie likes to nudge me out of my mom’s lap whenever she wants it. She’s a bossy lady, even if she is smaller and younger than I am. I love her anyway though, and would like to stay with her.

I am the epitome of the curious cat, and always want to know what you are up to. I’m more than happy to look over your shoulder to find out! And if you don’t give me my rightful attention I will walk on them as well! And do I ever love to play. My mom has a basket of toy mice. We play a game. She puts all of them away in the basket when she goes to bed and I get them out at night and bat them around so that I can pounce on them. The night belongs to me! Being curious, I love to sit in the front window and watch what is going on outside. I especially like it when it snows. I can’t figure out where those snowflakes come from and go, so I look up at the sky and track them as they fall down to the ground. Seeing me move my head up and down makes my mom laugh and laugh. I’m not offended though; I like making her happy. I also like to be up high and I really like to sit on the top of the refrigerator.

I am an indoor/outdoor cat and Mom has a cat door so that Manxie and I can go in and out as we please. It’s nice being out in the garden where I can roll around and scratch my back or lie in the sun. I never go too far though; I’m a homebody where that is concerned.

Mom had to move and she can’t take us with her which makes her really sad. Won’t you please come down to the SP4P welcome center and meet me and Manxie or give them a call at 719-359-0201 and make an appointment. We’d love to get to know you and I promise to show you how charming I am!
