Lola is a DLH tortie mix with lovely green eyes. She acts shy, but will be happy to warm up to you. She is a middle-aged cat (13) who would prefer a quiet home with no other cats, but she would consider living with small dogs again. She likes to be picked
up and stretched out to her full length, and will stand on the floor and stretch up to the countertop to let you know she would like some of what is being prepared. So if you need a little kitchen helper, Lola is the one for you.
Message from the Board
Fosters are one of the most important roles in a rescue such as ours. We rely 100% on fosters for the dogs that come into the Safe Place program, and occasionally for the cats as well. I would like to take this opportunity to thank two fosters in particular for their ongoing support of Safe Place for Pets.
Julie lives with her husband, three teenage kids, and Bailey, her young Maltese. They have fostered a number of small dogs for us in the past few years, including Penny, Lucy Lou, Heidi, Sadie, Mickey, and Wolfie. She takes the dogs on regular walks, takes pictures of them for us to use in advertising, and updates us on how they are progressing and adjusting at home.
Francine, who has a dog at home, is one of our cat fosters even though she’s allergic to them. She has a special room for them with bookshelves to climb on, a window to look out of, and a couch to relax on. She has fostered many cats for us, including Izzy, Natasha, Tatiana, and Cher. Cher was living at the cattery, but when she became more and more stressed, Francine took her in and Cher was back to her normal pleasant self in a few days.
It is generous people like Julie and Francine who open up their homes that allow us to continue our rescue work and provide healthy and happy pets for adoption to their new forever home. Fostering is exceedingly crucial to our rescue work. Please consider opening your home to a pet; contact us to foster today.

Congratulations to all of these furry friends! They found their Forever Homes!
