Tails to Tell: Exciting News from Safe Place for Pets
THANK YOU to those of you who helped us during the 2015 Indy GIVE! Campaign!!
Thanks to 198 generous donors, we raised over $23,000 during the 2015 Indy GIVE! Campaign! We just can't thank you enough, because your donations are what allow us to continue serving the terminally ill in El Paso and Teller Counties by finding forever homes for their beloved pets.
Join SPFP for a free concert as KCMJ FM turns on the transmitter, begins broadcasting at 93.9 FM live from Stargazers Theatre, and the community celebrates. We are proud to be one of over 3 dozen community partners participating in this milestone.
Eric is a handsome, silver-striped 10-year-old boy. who weighs around 11 lbs. He has been an indoor/outdoor cat, who had a great time socializing with other cats in his neighborhood. He is even more social with people, and will listen to your stories and share his own with you. He loves treats and is not afraid to ask you for them.
The Cattery at the Safe Place for Pets Welcome Center in Manitou Springs has quite an assortment of cats waiting to meet you and find our new forever homes! Low-key or active? Quiet or talkative? Lap kitties or playful? Independent or constant companion? Younger or older? We resident cats run the gamut and there is sure to be one of us that is a good fit as your feline companion.
Since we usually come from long-term homes, many of us tend to be older. Please visit the SP4P website to check out our bios, or come to the Cattery to meet us in person. We look forward to meeting you and convincing you to “try us out” for a pre-adoption visit in your home!
Message from the Board
2016 will be a year of changes (as it has already started out to be), and there is much to look forward to with our growing community partnerships, Paws for Celebration – which is surely to be bigger and better than ever – and growth in our ability to help those that fit our delicate mission. Did I also happen to mention that this is the 20th Anniversary of Safe Place?? SO much to be excited about! The cats at the Welcome Center are hoping to find a record number of forever homes this year (or month), so lets be zealous in our efforts to make 2016 better than ever for our pets and their families.
Please also know that we always welcome new volunteers, and we always have new roles for current volunteers. If you find that you have an extra hour to give at the Welcome Center, an extra evening to help write thank you notes to donors, or want to spend some time talking to people at events about Safe Place, please do not hesitate to send over an e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. We are all here for the same reason, and our heartstrings have been tugged at a time or two…or twenty. Volunteerism is critical to our ability to carry out our mission, and we appreciate any time that is offered.
Thank you all for being here and for all that you do. I am anticipating this exciting new year and new challenge as President, and very much looking forward to seeing you all and working together to make 2016 a successful year for Safe Place!
Congratulations to all of these furry friends! They found their Forever Homes!
